This painting depicts 9 clan groups located in Central Australia and near our homelands, as we are connected to each clan group the large circles are strongly connected to each clan this is shown by semi circles and straight lines, these indicate where and when to travel, it also tells of seasonal travels, in centre of painting I have displayed animal footprints that are integral to our people’s survival in terms of hunting and gathering, the footprints demonstrate good country, healthy country and great places to visit in those good seasons, food is indicated by footprints left in the sand and smaller dots represent many varieties of ground dwelling bush plums, vines that fruit are grown on, during good seasons the earth surrounding our homelands comes alive with fresh food (just like a supermarket) in town, on the outer side of the circles represent a night time vision and shows stars in our universe that also guide our people when they travel across the outback and desert sands at night, at times we can observe meteorites that strike across the night sky, I have captured these moments in the painting, we also have our dreaming totems that appear in the night sky, these totems assure us that we are safe and all is well.
